"We moved to Hinxworth in 1981 to run The Three Horseshoes , when we left 7 years later we stayed in the village because of the Community & Friendly environment, which is still the same today.

I have been living in the village since 2014  with my wife Karen and we embraced the friendly caring nature of this small but pretty Hertfordshire village straight away, and I’m very impressed with the community spirit and motivation to make things happen, which is key in a small community like ours.    I enjoy an active life with golf, cycling and walking as my main pursuits,  but I am also enjoy gardening, my home and general DIY

I been spent my early years in Bygrave then I moved away.  It had always been my intention to come back to the area which I did with my husband in 1999. Some of the people in the surrounding
villages are people related to families I knew before I moved away. It’s good to be back.

We moved to the village in 1998 when we were expecting the first of our two children. Nearly 23 years later and we’re still here. Hinxworth is a lovely peaceful village with a strong community spirit and it will be good to maintain these qualities in the future.
I have been a keen member of Hinxworth Archery club since 2006 and am a qualified archery coach. I have also recently returned to the allotments having worked one of the original plots at their inception.

I have lived in Hinxworth with my wife Patricia for 27 years. I spent my working life in newspapers, starting out on a local weekly in Yorkshire and ending up at The Daily Telegraph where I spent 29 years editing the news pages before retiring in 2016. I enjoy playing golf and gardening, both at home and on our allotment in the village. This is my second stint on the Parish Council, having served as Clerk for several years when we settled in Hinxworth.

Most of my working life was spent in the computer industry where I held various management positions, both nationally and internationally, mainly in Europe, Africa and the United States.  Moved to Ashwell in 2006 and then Hinxworth in 2016.  The village is ideal for my wife Merry and I and we believe it is important to keep it an attractive and desirable place to live; thus my wish to become a Parish Councillor.
I have multiple interests including badminton, piano and flying commercially.   Just completed a Masters in Law at Hertfordshire Law School.
